St. Cloud State To Offer Football Coaching Clinic

St. Cloud, MN -- St. Cloud State University will offer a three-session football coaching clinic for high school coaches on April 14, 21, & 28. The clinics will be held at SCSU’s Halenbeck Hall each day from 6:45 p.m.-9:00 p.m. These clinics are designed for high school coaches and they will feature seminars by many of the area’s top prep coaches along with presentations by members of the St. Cloud State University football coaching staff, including head coach Randy Hedberg. The fee for the clinic is $20 per person, which includes admission for all three sessions of the clinic. To register for the clinics or for more information, please call the SCSU football office at 320-308-2073. The clinic will include seminars by Albany High School coach Mike Kleinschmidt, Benson High School coach Scott Gonnerman, Becker High School coach Dwight Lundeen, Eastview High School coaches Kelly Sherwin and Shannon Humbert, Sauk Rapids High School coach Nate Rudolph, Brainerd High School coach Jeff Ramey, Eagan High School coach Dave Fritze, Elk River High School coach Mike Cross, Minnetonka High School coaches Luke Carlson and Greg Clough, Fergus Falls Community College coach Lloyd Danzeisen, and Tartan High School coach Tim Hickey. In addition, the clinic will feature presentations by SCSU offensive coordinator Paul Rudolph, wide receivers coach Steve Crutchley, defensive backs coach Jeremy Kruse and head coach Randy Hedberg. SCSU is coming off another winning season in 2003, with a solid 7-4 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the always rugged North Central Conference. In 2003, SCSU quarterback Keith Heckendorf finished second in the voting for the Harlon Hill Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation’s top NCAA Division II football player. SCSU will open the 2004 season on August 26 at Wayne State and it will open its new stadium on September 2 with a home game against Minnesota-Crookston
