SEVENTH ANNUAL DOUG WILLIAMS FOOTBALL CAMP IS SET FOR JUNE 6TH THROUGH 11TH

SEVENTH ANNUAL DOUG WILLIAMS FOOTBALL CAMP IS SET FOR JUNE 6TH THROUGH 11TH

GRAMBLING, La.  The Doug Williams Football Camp will be held on Sunday, June 11th through Friday, June 11th, 2004. This camp is open to all interested males between the ages nine through 17. The campers will be divided into two groups: the first group of will be the junior campers who are between the ages of nine and 14 or grades fourth (4th) through the ninth (9th). The next group will be the senior campers consisting of males between the ages of 15 and 17 or grades tenth (10th) through the twelfth (12th).

This camp will be conducted at the football facility on Grambling States campus. The campers will eat and sleep in the air-conditioned facilities on campus. Robinson Stadium and the practice fields are among some of the fine sports facilities that will be utilized by the camp. Awards will be given at the conclusion of the camp.

This camp will be operated with the campers best interest and safety in mind. The aim of the Doug Williams Football Camp is to provide the camper with the finest football instruction possible in all phases of the game. Players will be divided into groups according to age and position so that individual skills can be taught. Both flexibility exercises and a strength program will be included. Please note that all activities throughout the course of this camp are non-contact which includes no hitting and tackling.

The cost is $250 per overnight camper which includes five days of camp, room and board, two t-shirts, three meals a day, recreational games (including swimming), weight training instruction and photos (both individual and group). A $50 deposit is due with the application with the remainder being due at registration.

The day campers will report to campus at 8:00 a.m. and will be picked up each day at 6:00 p.m. The cost for commuting campers is $155 per person with a $50 deposit. Additional rates are as follows: Special Team Rate with ten or more players is $210 per person; the Family Rate with two or more children is $220 per person and the Day Camp Family Rate with two or more children is $155 per person.

The camp authorities will exercise the utmost care in assuring that each camper safety in the number one priority. All activities will be supervised. Twenty-four (24) hour supervision will be provided as the coaches will spend the night in the dormitories with the campers.

In addition, a camp video will be available for purchase for $10 per copy and additional t-shirts may be purchased at a cost of $10 each.
