Magnolia, Ark. - Several football camps are scheduled at Southern Arkansas University this summer, beginning with a 7 on 7 passing camp on Saturday, June 17. Another 7 on 7 camp will be held Saturday, July 22. Registration times are 8:00-8:45 a.m., and games begin at 9 a.m., both days. The games will be held in Wilkins Stadium and SAU’s practice facilities. Camp costs include a camp t-shirt and a meal on Saturday. The cost is $250 per a team of 10 players, with each additional player costing $10 per person. If a school wants to bring two teams, the cost will be $200 per team. A $50 deposit is required to reserve spots. A minimum of six games is guaranteed. Teams will need football shoes, at least one football per team, water containers, and game or practice jerseys. Rooms and meals are available for those who want to arrive on the Fridays before (June 16 and July 21). The additional cost is $20 per person.

An offensive/defensive line camp is set for June 26-28. Three work days are scheduled on all aspects of offensive and defensive line play. The camp staff will include successful high school and college coaches from the area. Camp fee is $190 for overnight campers and $120 for day campers. Three meals a days will be served for overnight campers, and lunch will be provided for day campers. T-shirts will be issued to all campers. A $50 non-refundable deposit must accompany all registration forms. All players entering the eighth through 12th grades are eligible. Campers should bring helmets and shoulder pads. If these items are unavailable, they can be rented for a small charge. Other items needed are athletic shorts, t-shirts, wash clothes, towels, toilet items, and bedding. Campers should bring enough clothes for six practices. Check in time is between 10 a.m.-noon Monday, June 26, at Wilkins Stadium. Check out will be Wednesday, June 28, between 11 a.m.-noon.

The second annual options skills camp will be held June 29-30 and July 1. This camp will feature three days of intensive work to learn the skills and techniques that have allowed Southern Arkansas to be successful running the triple option offense in the modern era. Camp fee is $190 for overnight campers and $120 for day campers. The same details for the camp on eligibility, what to bring, arrival and departure, and registration are the same as in the offensive-defensive line camp.
