Pioneer Football League Announces 11th Annual All-Academic Teams

San Diego’s Evan Harney and Eric Rasmussen unanimous selections
SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – The Pioneer Football League announced today its 11th annual Academic All-PFL squads. Forty-nine student-athletes were named to the two squads, the University of Dayton and University of San Diego each placing 11 student-athletes on the two squads. In addition, four PFL student-athletes were named to the Verizon Academic All-American teams, three receiving first-team honors: Dayton’s Nick Sleet and Doug Jones and Morehead State’s Craig Unger.
Pioneer Football League athletic directors established the Academic All-PFL squads in 1993 as a way to recognize the league’s outstanding student-athletes. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his career. No athlete is eligible until he has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his institution.
