The Undergraduate Order of the C at the University of Chicago held its 103rd annual awards banquet

Order of the C Celebrates 103rd Spring Dinner

CHICAGO -- The Undergraduate Order of the C at the University of Chicago held its 103rd annual awards banquet at the International House. Fourteen student-athletes received individual sport and department-wide awards.

Senior football player Rob Tamillow (Oak Park, Ill./ Fenwick) received the Amos Alonzo Stagg Medal, which is presented to the senior male athlete with the best all-around record for athletics, scholarship, and character.

A Football Gazette second-team All-American and University Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year, Tamillow was selected to participate in the Aztec Bowl after ranking second in the NCAA Division III in tackles-for-loss per game (2.5) and fifth in sacks per game (1.2). He posted school records with 24 tackles-for-loss and 12 sacks to lead a Chicago defense that ranked among the Division III top 15 in four categories.

Senior cross country/track & field athlete Pat Hogan (Seattle, Wash./ Shorectest) received the Mary Jean Mulvaney Scholar-Athlete Award, which is presented to the senior with at least three varsity letters who has compiled the highest junior and senior grade point average.

Team most valuable players included senior Dan Yeksigian (Downers Grove, Ill./ Benet) in baseball; junior Brandon Woodhead (Lincoln, Neb./ East) in basketball; senior Teage O'Connor (Thousand Oaks, Calif./ Thousand Oaks) in cross country; senior Colin Carrier (Glen Ellyn, Ill./ Benet) in football; senior Giordano Palloni (Madison, Wis./ West) in soccer; freshman Shane Carlson (Houston, Texas/ Memorial); senior Ward Bortz (Brookfield, Wis./ Marquette) in tennis; junior Emil Bojanov (Sofia, Bulgaria/ Dulaney, Md.) in indoor track & field; sophomore Zach Rodgers (Nashville, Tenn./ University) in outdoor track & field; and junior Mike Bishof (Oak Brook, Ill./ York) in wrestling.

Yeksigian received the J. Kyle Anderson Award, which is presented to the senior baseball player who, over his collegiate career, best exemplifies character, leadership, integrity, and dedication to the team while distinguishing himself with his accomplishments on the field.

Senior Jon Todd (Chatsworth, Calif./ Chaminade) earned the Joseph A. Stampf Award, which is presented to the senior basketball player whose commitment to high values and integrity is expressed in his relationship with teammates & coaches.

Sophomore Bharath Sithian (Staten Island, N.Y./ Staten Island Academy) received the Max Davidson Award, which is given to the tennis team member whose dedication to the team and to sport has excelled above all others.

Rodgers earned the Ted Haydon Medal, which is presented to the track & field athlete who scored the most points for the team at the University Athletic Association indoor and outdoor championship meets.

Founded in 1904, the undergraduate Order of the C is the nation's longest-running collegiate men's athletics support organization.
